However in the third set at 3/2 Michael fell on the court and got injured. Nevertheless he continued to fight and even had 4 match points but finally succumbed in the tie-breaker 8/10. Mikhail also lost the 4th set in a close fight 5/7. In the decider Mikhail could break his opponent and went on to take his serve to win the set 8/6 converting his 7th match points. "I was supposed to finish the match in three sets but I had cramps,-- Mikhail Youzhny said after the match. - In the last games Richard kind of stopped, and I played more actively. The crowd really helped me a lot at the critical moments of the decisive set". "I was surprised how Mikhail could find his energies in the fifth set , -said Richard Gasquet.- and I had cramps in my arms by the end of the fifth set while Mikhail to the contrary played better".
